Issue Overview:
Operators may experience the wrap arm on the Tanco S200 stopping during the wrapping cycle, even after replacing the slipring. This is often due to sensor or hydraulic issues rather than electrical faults.
Common Causes:
Unfold Sensor Activation:
- The wrap arm may creep back during operation, triggering the unfold sensor.
- This sensor is wired in series with safety arm sensors, and its activation stops wrapping with a “RESET SAFETY” message.
-
Hydraulic Cylinder Creep:
- The unfold cylinder rod may slowly extend due to internal leakage or low holding pressure.
-
Valve Pressure Settings:
- Incorrect settings on valve 19 (unfold safety valve) or valve 18 (holding valve) can cause instability.
-
Excessive Oil Pressure:
- Oil pressure above 40 bar in the parked position can make it harder to hold the arm in place.
Troubleshooting Steps:
-
Check for Cylinder Creep:
- Fold the wrap arm out and observe if the cylinder rod creeps out over time.
-
Adjust Valve 19:
- Turn the adjuster screw clockwise to increase holding pressure.
-
Inspect Valve 18 and Cylinder Seals:
- Check for internal leakage or worn seals.
-
Verify Oil Pressure:
- Ensure pressure in the parked position is 40 bar. Adjust if higher.
Additional Notes:
- If the safety arm is bypassed, ensure all other safety sensors are functioning.
- Always follow hydraulic safety protocols during inspection and adjustment.
