Symptom

The film fails to cut at the end of the wrapping cycle. The mechanism may appear to be functioning mechanically, but the film remains intact, preventing a clean cycle completion.

Root Cause

The Cut & Start mechanism is incorrectly set to the Transport Position. In this configuration, the assembly is retracted for safe travel, which prevents it from reaching the necessary contact point to cut the film during active operation.

Resolution

To ensure proper operation, the mechanism must be moved from the Transport Position to the Working Position.

Step-by-Step Adjustment:

  1. Identify the Adjustment Point: Locate the mounting bracket for the Cut & Start mechanism. You will see two distinct holes for the mounting hardware.

  2. Check Current Position:

    • Transport Position: The screw and washer are located in the top hole.

Working Position: The screw and washer are located in the bottom hole.

  3. Adjust the Hardware: * Support the Cut & Start assembly.

    • Remove the screw and washer from the top hole.

    • Align the assembly with the bottom hole.

    • Reinsert and tighten the screw and washer.

  4. Verify Operation: Run a test cycle to confirm the film is now cutting correctly at the end of the wrap.
