Load Sensing hydraulic systems are designed to optimise the efficiency of hydraulic power from the tractor. These systems ensure that the hydraulic pump provides the necessary flow and pressure only when required by the attached wrapper while minimising energy wastage. When the wrapper is idle, the hydraulic system is idle and when the wrapper needs oil, this is communicated from the wrapper to the tractor. This avoid the build up of unnecessary heat in the oil and more economical to run. The TANCO S200-V uses true Load Sensing technology.
The TANCO S100-A has a low tech control valve, designed to work on open centre hydraulics. The Load Sensing Valve (Part No. 1340120) is offered by TANCO to allow the S100-A to work on a Load Sensing System. It is not a true Load Sensing system and simply 'opens/closes' the valve when the S100 needs oil. There is no communication between the tractor and the wrapper.

A new pipe is fitted to supply the L.S. signal to the tractor.
